First Graphene Ltd has entered into a joint development agreement (JDA) with Suvo Strategic Minerals to research and develop low-emission cement and concrete products. Argentina’s cement market expands 7% in 2022

Cement demand in Argentina fell by nine per cent to 932,661t in December 2022 from 1,144,123t in December 2021, reports the country’s cement association, AFCP. South Korea’s major cement producers are implementing another hike in wholesale prices amid strengthening in the key ingredient bituminous coal and construction activity, adding woes to concrete mixers and builders.   According to multiple sources from the cement industry, the country’s top cement producer Ssangyong C&E has decided to raise the price of its top-grade bulk cement to KRW93,000/t (US$77.6/t) from next month. Cement sales in Puerto Rico declined 3.6 per cent YoY in October 2022 to 1.17m bags of 42.6kg, or 49,842t, according to the country’s Statistics Institute. Moroccan cement sales down by quarter in December

Cement deliveries in Morocco decreased by 25 per cent in December 2022 to 942,317t from 1,255,552t in December 2021, according to the country’s cement association, APC. The monthly total includes sales by APC members Asment Temara , Ciments de l’Atlas , Ciments du Maroc and LafargeHolcim Maroc . In the full-year 2022 total deliveries fell by 10.7 per cent to 12.487Mt from 13.975Mt in 2021.

Cambodia's five cement factories produced 7.7Mt of cement in the January-November period of last year, according to a report from the Cambodian Cement Manufacturing Association (CCMA). Kampot Cement Co Ltd (SCG) was the largest producer at 2.2Mt, followed by Chip Mong Insee Cement Corp (CMIC) with 1.9Mt. Cement consumption in Kenya declined from 2.596Mt in the third quarter of 2021 to 2.217Mt in the same period this year, marking a contraction of 14.6 per cent YoY. Italian cement production fell by five per cent YoY in October 2022, according to the country’s construction chamber, Federbeton. When compared with the 2015 base index production the value increased from 96 in August to 102 per cent in October.
