Vietnamese cement market contracts 3% in November

Cement consumption in Vietnam in November 2022 totalled 5,275,474t, down by three per cent YoY, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). Of this total 1,800,848t was supplied by VICEM, representing a YoY decline of two per cent, while other VNCA members supplied 1,174,626t, down four per cent YoY. Iranian cement production expands 6% in 9M22

Cement production in Iran increased 5.7 per cent YoY in the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (21 March-21 December 2022), according to data released by the Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry. Total output during the nine-month period reached 33.943Mt, up from 32.109Mt in the equivalent period of the previous year. In 2021 the country produced 63Mt of cement, of which it exported 14.4Mt.

Belarus to increase peat shipments for cement mill operations

Peat industry enterprises intend to increase shipments of peat fuel to Belarusian cement mills by 20 per cent in 2023, the Energy Ministry told BelTA. The Borneo-based Sarawak Economic Development Corp (SEDC) and the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) are planning to create a joint venture to import cement from Thailand to address the supply shortage in the state of Sarawak.
