Spain to see fifth consecutive annual double-digit fall in demand

Spanish cement association Oficemen expects consumption to reduce by 33 per cent in 2012  per cent in 2013 , the fifth double-digit decline in a row. Pakistan invites Expressions of Interest for new coal terminal

The Karachi Port Trust (KPT), which operates under Pakistan’s Ministry of Ports and Shipping, is inviting expressions of interest (EOI) to develop a dedicated coal terminal on a Build on Transfer (BOT) basis. The port authority is inviting consortiums of financial, legal and technical consultants/firms, to provide services to help it develop the terminal. Domestic cement shipments in Peru jumped 16.62 per cent to 8.756Mt in the first 11 months of 2012, according to the Peruvian Association of Cement Producers (Asocem). The Egyptian government is to raise fuel prices for cement companies that use mazout for production by 130 per cent, according to local press. Argentine Portland cement shipments, including exports, slipped by 0.9 per cent MoM to 982,116t in November after registering two consecutive months of improvement.
