Indonesian sales recover from seasonal slowdown

The UK’s construction sector unexpectedly grew at the fastest pace in five months in October, according to a new survey. Estonia-based chemical company Viru Keemia Grupp (VKG) is planning to relaunch the plan for a new cement plant which it had stalled in 2009. Cemex plans to complete the construction of a clinker storage facility at its cement plant in Bunol, Spain, in March or April 2012. Despite the difficult economic situation, Cemex plans to invest EUR1.3m in the construction of the facility. UltraTech Cement sales dip, India

India’s Ultratech Cement on Wednesday reported nearly seven per cent decline in October sales at 3.187Mt over the same month last year. The company had sold 3.42Mt of cement in October, 2010, it said in a statement. Production during the month also declined to 3.27Mt compared to 3.47Mt in the same month last year. Ultratech Cement’s sales during the April-October period of this fiscal stood at 21.8Mt and production at 21.668Mt.

The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has urged the government to press India to allow two train interchanges per day until exports by trucks are allowed.
