Yura records 43% decline in 2Q19 profit

Peru’s Cementos Yura (Gloria Group) has reported a 43 per cent YoY fall in profit to PEN56.5m (US$16.67m) for the second quarter of 2019. Cement sales were down 0.3 per cent to PEN231.3m in the 2Q19, while dispatches to external markets fell 22 per cent. Production between April-June reached 602,031t, decreasing five per cent compared to the year-ago period. Cementos Pacasmayo announces 12% revenue increase

Peru’s Cementos Pacasmayo has announced a 11.9 per cent YoY increase in revenue during the 2Q19, mainly attributed to an 11.8 per cent rise in the sales volume of cement, concrete and precast. Net income advanced 37 per cent to PEN32.2m (US$9.8m), while its consolidated EBITDA climbed 11.3 per cent YoY to PEN94.3m. Peru’s cement consumption up 4% in June

The Peruvian cement market expanded by 4.1 per cent YoY to 0.914Mt in June, according to Asocem, the country’s cement association. However, MoM demand fell by 4.8 per cent. Cement dispatches in Peru increased four per cent YoY to 0.906Mt in June 2019.  Of this total, Asocem members supplied 0.807Mt while a further 0.099Mt was delivered by non-members. Cemento Inka expects to start Pisco construction in August

Peru-based Cemento Inka plans to start the civil works for its new 0.7Mta grinding plant in Pisco in August. The US$20m project is expected to take 12 months to complete with commissioning due in the 2H20, according to the company’s Director and Marketing Manager, Carlos Alberto Choy. Cement consumption in Peru rose 8.2 per cent YoY in May 2019 to 0.976Mt, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Of this total, 0.97Mt was supplied by domestic producers, including 0.854Mt by Asocem members, who reported a 9.7 per cent YoY and a 8.3 per cent MoM rise in dispatches. Cement consumption in Peru advanced 3.4 per cent to 905,000t in April 2019, up 3.4 per cent when compared with April 2018, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. Peru’s Yura has posted a 7.1 per cent YoY drop in profits to PEN37.6m (US$11.3m) for the first quarter of 2019, with the decrease attributed to lower sales and greater sales costs. Overall sales fell by 3.4 per cent to reach PEN222.6m.
