Fauji Cement signs RDF deal, Pakistan

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) of Pakistan has made temporary arrangement with Fauji Cement for the disposal of waste from the capital Islamabad. Fauji Cement has installed a Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) plant at its cement works near the village of Jang, Tehsil Fatehjang, Attock district, which processes solid waste into fuel. Suez Cement alternative fuel implementation, Egypt

Suez Cement Group of Companies (SCGC) has started the implementation of an integrated alternative fuel (AF) system at Kattameya plant, in collaboration with the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAAA). According to its Environmental Policy SCGC is planning reducing the utilisation of traditional fuels by feeding its kilns with AFs derived from agricultural waste eg rice straw or cotton stalks and municipal wastes.

Plans to burn used tyres and plastics for energy at the Aberthaw Cement Works in South Wales industrial plant have been submitted to the Environment Agency for approval. ACC Ltd on Saturday launched Concrete +, its eco-friendly cement, targeting the requirements of individual home builders. Concrete + is produced by grinding OPC 53 grade, which is known for adding strength to structures and processed fly ash, said PN Iyer, Director (sales-south) of ACC Ltd, at a press conference.
