Arkan Building Materials reported 1H20 profits declining to AED2.1m (US$571,818) as construction activity became disrupted in UAE due to the pandemic. Dalmia Bharat posts 24% YoY increase in net profit

India’s Dalmia Bharat has reported a 23.7 per cent YoY rise in consolidated net profit to INR1.88bn (US$25.08m) for the quarter ending June 2020, compared with 1.52bn in the year-ago period. SCG sees dip in Vietnam's revenue from sales

Thailand’s Siam Cement Group (SCG) has seen its revenue from sales in Vietnam drop five per cent YoY to VND13.1trn (US$564.6m) in the first half of 2020, according to Vietnam News. The figure accounted for 8.8 per cent of SCG’s total revenue during the six-month period. In the 2Q20, its revenue from sales in the country reached VND7trn, equivalent to 40 per cent of the total revenue from ASEAN markets, excluding Thailand, compared to 30 per cent in 2019.

Total shipments of Portland and blended cement, including imports, in the USA and Puerto Rico fell 6.3 per cent YoY to 8.7Mt in May 2020, according to data published by the US Geological Survey (USGS). US-based building materials producer Martin Marietta posted total revenues of US$1.27bn in the 2Q20, representing a marginal decline from US$1.28bn in the 2Q19.
