Adelaide Brighton sees revenue down 8% in 2019

Australia’s Adelaide Brighton Ltd has reported a 74.5 per cent YoY fall in net profit to AUD47.2m (US$31.1m) for 2019, decreasing from AUD185.2m in the previous year. Peruvian cement consumption increases 2% in January 2020

Peru’s cement market expanded 2.1 per cent YoY to 946,000t in January 2020 from 927,000 in the year-ago period, according to the country’s cement association, Asocem. In the prior 12 months (including January 2020) consumption rose by 4.7 per cent YoY to 11.728Mt. Cement consumption in Brazil slips 1% in January 2020

Cement sales in Brazil slipped 0.9 per cent YoY to 4.5Mt in January 2020, according to the country’s cement association, SNIC. Apparent cement consumption, which includes imports and domestic sales, totalled 4.5Mt, representing a 1.3 per cent decline when compared with January 2019. The Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB) has re-elected Dr Tamer Saka as its chairman, with Dr Saka having already served in the role since July 2019. Colombia’s Cementos Argos saw a 11.4 per cent YoY rise in consolidated revenue to COP9.3trn (US$2.71bn) in 2019. EBITDA increased 14.3 per cent YoY to COP1.75trn, while its operating income advanced 1.7 per cent to over COP838bn. Cement sales in Brazil during January 2020 fell by 0.9 per cent YoY to 4.5Mt as heavy rains in the north and southeast impaired performance, the National Union of the Cement Industry (SNIC) has said.
