Pioneer Cement Ltd (PIOC) has informed Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) that the company successfully ignited its new 10,000tpd kiln line. Saudi Arabian Cement has bought a stake in United Cement Co BSC of Bahrain from Esterad Investment Co for SAR23m (US$6.13m). The sale is for a 36 per cent stake in United Cement, which is located in Adliya. Saudi Arabia records 22% production increase in December

Saudi Arabian cement sales rose 24.2 per cent YoY in terms of volume in December 2019, while total production increased 21.7 per cent to 4.7Mt from 3.86Mt, according to Mubasher. Cement inventories in the country declined 0.6 per cent YoY to 1.18Mt in the last month of 2019. Southern Province Cement Co recorded the highest volume of sales during the month, totalling around 708,000t, followed by Saudi Cement Co with 586,000t.

Cimtogo signs US$30m contract with Ayoki

Togo-based cement producer Cimtogo has signed a US$30m contract with Ayoki to extend its cement capacity by 1Mta to 2Mta, reports ActuDaily. The project is expected to generate 200-300 jobs. Gabon cement output jumps 21% in 9M19

Cement production in Gabon has increased by 20.7 per cent in the first nine months of 2019, according to DirectInfosGabon. Output from CIMAF and CimGabon reached 421,356t. Cement sales advanced by 17.7 per cent to 413,604t due to strong local demand, mainly from the self-build sector during the dry season. Cement company revenues were up 15.8 per cent YoY to XAF39.864bn (US$68m).
