Holcim Argentina to replace 35% of energy with wind power

Holcim Argentina has signed a contract with YPF Luz to replace 35 per cent of its conventionally-sourced energy with wind power. This translates to 142,000Mwh per annum of demand, which YPF Luz will supply from its 30MW Los Teros wind farm. Andusia forms partnership with SRF producer for Mediterranean exports

Jamaica’s Caribbean Cement has been selected by the country’s government to remove and dispose of over 2m old tyres stockpiled at the Riverton City disposal site in Kingston, according to the Jamaica Observer. Gulf Cement is preventing thousands of tonnes of camel waste from going to landfill. The cement company is cutting its emissions while using camel dung to supplement its fuel usage.
