Cement dispatches in Colombia increased to 1.131Mt in September 2020, up 4.9 per cent from 1.078Mt in September 2019, according to DANE, the national statistics office. Chilean cement dispatches fell 13 per cent to 868,487t in July-September 2020 from 998,291t in the 3Q19, according to the country’s chamber of construction, CChC. The latest data show a deceleration of the drop in consumption experienced in the second quarter of 2020. Cement demand in Indonesia fell to 6.175Mt in September 2020, according to the Indonesian cement association, ASI. Oman’s Duqm International Cement Projects Co is preparing to launch the country’s biggest integrated cement plant project with an investment of US$435m, according to the Oman News Agency. Total cement sales in Vietnam fell by 12 per cent YoY and by seven per cent MoM to 4,826,791t, according to the Vietnamese National Cement Association (VNCA).
