Inadequate transportation facilities in Pakistan are hampering cement exports to India by road, manufacturers have claimed.    "There is unlimited demand for cement in India. Kesoram Industries starts cement production ahead of schedule

Kesoram Industries Ltd has started cement production at its Unit III facility one month ahead of schedule on September 4, 2007. Production was able to start early because a new roller was delivered to the factory site and fitted ahead of schedule, in the second week of August 2007 instead of early September. The roller, supplied by Polysius AG Germany, was expected to arrive by sea route but was instead airlifted to the factory by a chartered flight.

India Ambuja August cement shipments up three per cent YoY

Ambuja Cements, India’s third-largest cement maker, said on Wednesday its August shipments rose three per cent to 1.15Mt from 1.12Mt a year earlier.     Production rose an annual four per cent to 1.13Mt, the company said in a statement.     Holcim owns more than 36 per cent of  Ambuja Cements and has said it would launch an open offer to buy another 20 per cent.  

Producers see lower earnings from core business in Taiwan
