Lafarge to submit proposals on construction of plant in Azerbaijan

"In September, we will see advances in the question regarding construction of a cement plant in Azerbaijan. The third phase project funded by Jiangxi Yadong Cement Co., Ltd with RMB826m, was formally completed and went into operation, according to the latest information from the company. Siam Cement to issue up to THB10bn bonds to refinance debt

Siam Cement PCL (SCC.TH) said Monday its board has approved its plan to issue up to THB10bn of bonds to refinance part of its debts.     The planned bonds will replace the existing THB10 billion of bonds that come due Nov. 1, and will be placed with existing bondholders.     Including the planned bonds,  Siam Cement’s total bonds will total up to THB90 billion.

Holcim increased its first half turnover by 19.5% to SFr13,002m (EUR7,977m) with the operating EBITDA improving by 22.3% to SFr3,324m (EUR2,039m).  The trading profit rose by 24.8% to SFr2,423m ( EUR1,487m) and at the net attributable level there was a 195.1% jump to SFr2,423m (EUR1,482m), helped by the €675m capital gain in South Africa . Goldman Sachs is in advanced talks to take a quarter of a privately owned cement maker in east China for nearly $80m, marking the latest foreign foray into the country’s fragmented cement sector.
