Anhui Zhenzhu Group has formally signed an agreement with the Suzhou Municipal Government on the Caocun cement production project. The project includes two cement production lines with daily production capacity of 4500t of cement. Edney Vieira, chairman of Cimpor’s executive board, says that the cement producer will acquire new companies to increase market share and launch new investments. Kenya’s leading cement producer, Bamburi, has announced its half year pretax profits rising by 15 per cent to 2.24 billion shillings (about US$34m) from 1.955 billion shillings (US$29m) in the same period last year.
