Cement sales in Vietnam will annually increase by 8-10 per cent from now till 2010, according to the Trade Minsitry. Existing cement and clinker makers in Viet Nam will intensify production in the near future because there will be no new cement plants or major clinker facilities constructed between now and mid-2008. Jordan Cement Factories Company (JCFC) will invest JD20m to expand its production capacity at the Rashadiyah factory, a JCFC statement said. The Ibeto Cement Company, has sent a petition to the Senate, accusing the Federal Government of complicities in the closure of its cement bagging plant. Output of the Iranian cement industry in Spring 2006 saw an increase of 300,000t compared to the same period last year. The predicted amount for this period as 7.9Mt but reached an unexpected 8.4Mt. China’s cement output hits new high in first five months

China’s cement output in the first five months hit a new high with a rise of 20.4 per cent from the previous year, said a new report on Thursday. The Xinhua-run China Securities Journal quoted statistics published by Digital Cement, an industrial website run by the China Cement Association, that the output of cement from January to May reached 429Mt. UAE demand to keep rising

Given the pace of construction in the UAE, demand for cement is expected to increase by up to 15 per cent every year for the next five years, raising prices for the commodity during this period, according to a industry study conducted by the Emirates Industrial Bank.
