Semen Tonasa is planning to invest at least Rp 2.5 trillion to increase its production  capacity  as  well  as  build  a new plant in Pangkep, said the company’s  newly  elected President Director, Drs. Ministry stops use of coral in cement production

Peru’s September cement sales rise

Peru’s overall cement sales in September rose 18.6 per cent to 456,907t from the 385,305t sold in the same month a year before, as the economy continued to expand, the National Association of Cement Producers, or Asocem, said Monday.  In the first nine months of the year, cement sales totaled 3,683,074t, a 9.65 per cent increase from the same period a year earlier.  Cementos Lima SA led the sales in September, selling 223,511t of cement, which includes 67,356t for export, the association said.

Antimonopoly service sends claim to Eurocement

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has reportedly sent an invoice to the Eurocement Group for one billion roubles (US$35m)as part of negotiations over claims of excessive profiteering and what it sees as its unacceptable monopolistic position in the markets, particularly the Moscow region.   Eurocement Group controls 15 plants with capacity of 33Mt of cement a year. Indonesia’s cement consumption rose 4.2 per cent in September from a year earlier, the country’s largest cement maker said on Monday.  State-controlled PT Semen Gresik Tbk , 25.5 percent owned by Cemex SA, said Southeast Asia’s largest economy used 3.04Mt of the building material last month, up from 2.92Mt in 2004.  Domestic cement sales of Semen Gresik alone rose 5.8 percent to 1.43Mt in September. Turkish Sanko wins Gaziantep tender

Turkish industrial group Sanko Holding made the highest bid of $128m in the sell-off tender of cement factory Gaziantep Cimento, it was reported on October 14, 2005.  Sanko entered the open bid session, which started at $127m after the closed bids, offering immediately $128m, which forced the remaining 13 bidders to drop out.
