Oman’s Raysut to increase cement output

Oman’s Raysut Cement Co. (RCC) said on Wednesday its third production line would increase total output to almost 2Mta to meet the country’s increasing demand. Ultratech Cement Ltd has earmarked Rs 600 crore for installation of captive power plants, chiefly a 92-megawatt lignite-based plant at Gujarat Cement Works, which will be commissioned by July 2007. According to Tehran Times, four cement production plants with a daily production capacity of 3,900,000t are being constructed in Ilam, a provincial official in this western Iranian province. Zhigulevskiye Construction Materials boosted production almost by 13 per cent in January-July 2005 (part of Eurocement Group). In sum, in the first seven months of 2005 the company made around 510,000t of cement, an increase of 57,700t from the figure posted in the same period 2004, press service of Eurocement Group reported.

Iranian cement export

Iran exported some 188,000t of cement, worth US$9.946m, during the first four months of current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2005). According to Public Relations Department of Iran’s Mine House, the figure on export showed increases of 109.3 and 103 per cent in terms of weight and value respectively compared to the similar period the previous year.
