Russia’s Inteko has purchased 90 per cent Of Pushka cement, announced First deputy chairman of the enterprise’s board of directors Ihor Slabousov. No public inquiry into Lafarge plans

The Government has rejected calls for a public inquiry into Lafarge Cement’s plan to burn re-cycled liquid fuel in Westbury.  The decision comes despite residents’ fears that the application for a six-month trial period does not properly address potential health problems. The net profit of Egyptian cement producer Misr Beni Suef Cement (MBSC) jumped to 6.99 mln Egyptian pounds ($1.13m) in the first quarter of 2004 from 784,000 pounds ($127,000) in the same period of 2003.  The company’s net sales surged 204.2 pct year-on-year to 58.39 mln pounds ($9.5m).
