Chinese have land agreement in place for Sibay cement plant

The Chinese are reported to have begun designs for a cement plant in Sibay, Bashkira, Russia, close to the Kazakh border. Vietnam’s cement industry has helped drive an increase in coal sales during the first 11 months of 2018. Iran’s southern province of Hormozgan reported a 40 per cent increase in clinker and cement exports to 400,000t during the eight-month period between 21 March-21 November 2018, according to Masoumeh Mousavi of the country’s Mine and Trade Department. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the USA and Puerto Rico decreased 4.2 per cent YoY to 8.4Mt in September, according to the latest data from the US Geological Survey (USGS). Argentina’s cement consumption fell 17.8 per cent to 970,248t in November 2018 when compared with 1.18Mt in November 2017. When compared with the previous month, the decline was 6.7 per cent, according to the country’s cement association, AFCP.
