President of PT Semen Baturaja, Pamudji Rahardjo, announced that the state company would bring its second cement plant online next year. Saudi Arabia: cement sales down 7%

A recent report from Al Rajhi Capital Research stated that total cement sales in Saudi Arabia fell 6.8 per cent YoY to 47Mt in the first 10 months of 2016, from 50.2Mt in the same period last year. Vientiane Hongshi Saythirath Cement Co is due to begin construction on its new 5000tpd dry-process plant in Vientiane’s Hinhuep district, with completion estimated for 2018. Sanghi Industries Ltd is planning to further develop its capacity following the 1.2Mta expansion of its plant in Kutch district. Production capacity at the Kutch plant recently rose to 4.1Mta. Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (CMSB) has said it will be able produce a year-round reliable supply of cement following the commissioning of its third and largest plant in Mambong, Sarawak. Pakistan cement industry showed mixed result of performance in October 2016. Sales of cement in the domestic market accelerated to 15.88 per cent in October 2016, but exports declined by 1.96 per cent compared. Argentina’s cement market contracted 17.9 per cent YoY and 7.1 per cent MoM in October 2016 as 925,678t (from 1,128,015t in October 2015) of cement were delivered to domestic customers, according to the latest figures by the country’s cement association, AFCP.
