Egypt prices stable on surplus supply

Producers in Egypt have decided to keep cement prices stable for the fifth-consecutive month, Minister of Supply, Khaled Hanafy, announced on Sunday. The price stability is due to surplus supply, Daily News Egypt quoted Medhat Staphanos, head of cement companies at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FDI) as saying. Ecuador first-quarter sales at 1.4Mt

Ecuador cement sales in the first three months of 2015 reached 1.427Mt, latest data from local association Instituto Ecuatoriano del Cemento y del Hormigon shows. In March alone, sales were 504,682t, up 15.67 per cent compared to the February 2015 figure of 436,287t.

Lucky Cement posts double-digit rise in 9M net profit, Pakistan

Lucky Cement recorded net profit for the nine months ending 31 March 2015 of PKR9.30bn (US$91.5m), up 13.7 per cent YoY. The company's gross profit increased by 7.2 per cent during the nine months as its net sales revenue improved by 5.38 per cent to PKR33.15bn against PKR31.45bn for the corresponding period of last year. Construction output down by 1.8% in euro area

Seasonally-adjusted production in the construction sector fell in February 2015 fell by 1.8 per cent in the euro area (EA19) and by 1.2 per cent in the EU28 compared with January 2015, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Pakistan export volumes and revenues down over first nine months

Pakistan cement exports in the first nine months of the current fiscal fell 6.75 per cent YoY to 6Mt. Export revenues, meanwhile, were down by 6.86 per cent to US$349.04m over the July 2014-March 2015 period. In terms of the Pakistan rupee, exports fell by 9.54 per cent to PKR35.31bn and the average price was down to US$58.08m versus US$58.15m in the year-ago period. Clinker and cement remained Vietnam’s major exports to Bangladesh in the first quarter of this year with export revenue of US$70.1m despite a decline of 33.6 per cent from the same period of last year.
