Ahangarancement produces 400,500t of cement in 1Q, Uzbekistan

Ahangarancement JSC, part of the Eurocement Group, produced 400,500t of cement in the first quarter of 2015, according to data released by its parent company. In the reporting period, the plant produced 242,489t of clinker. Shipments over the Jan-March 2015 period reached 388,397t, exceeding the target figure by 11 per cent. 

New contract for Boldrocchi Ecologia in Egypt

Boldrocchi Ecologia has signed a new contract with Tourah Portland Cement, a subsidiary of Suez Cement Group of Companies (SCGC), for revamping of the whole Line #9 de-dusting units at the Tourah plant in Cairo. The turnkey contract includes new kiln and raw mill bag filters, bypass bag filter, clinker cooler heat exchanger and bag filter with new exhaust fans. Peru cement sales down 1%, exports up 50% in March

Peru’s cement dispatches fell one per cent YoY to 806,000t in March as public spending was down and rains affected the construction industry, according to cement association Asocem. Regional and municipal governments saw their spending cut by 30 and 61 per cent, respectively. Output in the country’s cement plants increased two per cent to 861,000t when compared with March 2014. Lafarge Republic inaugurates new mill at Teresa works, Philippines

Lafarge Republic Incorporated (LRI) inaugurated a new cement mill in its Teresa plant, Rizal, the Philippines, on Wednesday. US January shipments up 12% YoY

Portland and blended cement in the US and Puerto Rico in January 2015 increased by about 12 per cent YoY to 5.4Mt, latest data from the US Geological Survey confirms. The leading Portland cement-producing states in January were Texas, California, Missouri, Florida and Alabama, in descending order. SPC upbeat on outlook for Polish cement sales

Polish cement producers sold nearly 2.7Mt of cement in the first quarter of this year, up 3.4 per cent YoY, with further growth anticipated in 2015 and beyond. In the first quarter of 2015, Kazakhstan-based producer Steppe Cement reported a three per cent decline in sales volumes to 192,884t from 198,607t a year earlier. Spanish competition regulator CNMC has included Lafarge and Holcim in the proceedings for alleged cartel agreements brought up against a number of sector players at the end of 2014.
