Holcim (New Zealand) has selected Timaru and Auckland as the location for two new 30,000t bulk cement import terminals. Bosowa Corp set to start Banten plant construction, Indonesia

The Bosowa Corporation said it plans to start construction of a new cement plant in Cilegon, Banten, in the first quarter of next year. Company CEO, Erwin Aksa, told the Jakarta Post that should construction begin in March 2014, operations could commence by the end of 2015. The government of Jamaica is close to concluding a supply contract with Venezuela to use cement exports to meet some debt repayment obligations under the PetroCaribe agreement. The Chaudhary Group (CG) has started production from a new 1500tpd plant in Nepal. Barun Chaudhary, director of CG, said the new Chinese-built plant can produce 250tpd of OPC and 1350tpd of PPC. Al Jouf begins trial production of new line, Saudi Arabia

Al Jouf Cement has launched trial operations of its second production line, the Saudi-based cement producer said in a bourse statement. The new kiln line has a clinker capacity of 5000tpd. In late October, the company had signed an agreement with Al Rajhi Bank for a SAR400m (US$106.7m) loan to partially finance the construction of the new line, to be repaid by June 2019.

FLSmidth confirms talks for new Oman Cement project

FLSmidth has confirmed it is in talks with Oman Cement Co for supply of equipment and machinery for a cement plant following reports in Omani media.
