Caribbean Cement Company sent its first clinker consignment to Corporación Socialista del Cemento in Venezuela yesterday. The greenfield Yovon cement plant that came into operation in late September has produced some 230,000t of cement in its first two months of operation, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT). Saudi cement producer and trader Al Jouf Cement said in a bourse filing it will shut down its production Kiln line 6 for scheduled maintenance from 21 December until 7 January. The cement company said that the stoppage will not impact its ability to meet contractual obligations to clients, adding it will announce its cost later.

Cement production in Ukraine in November 2013 increased by 16.2 per cent YoY to 816,000t, while in the previous month the decline was 2.2 per cent compared to October 2012, the State Statistics Service (SSS) reported.
