Ecuador cement sales continue upward trend

Ecuador cement sales continued their upward trend in November, rising by 5.9 per cent YoY, latest statistics from local cement association, Inecyc, show. During November 2013 sales reached 594,814t compared to 561,534t in the same month of 2012. For the year to-date, sales were ahead by 9.8 per cent reaching 6.043Mt over Jan-November 2013, against the 5.504Mt recorded in the comparative period of last year.

Poland's monthly cement output rises 13.1% YoY

Poland reported a double-digit rise in cement production during November 2013. However, cement sales slipped marginally during the month. November cement output totalled 1.291Mt, up by 13.1 per cent YoY, according to the country’s cement association, SPC. Cement sales, meanwhile, fell by 2.2 per cent to 1.204Mt. For the 11 months to November 2013, cement output declined by 9.5 per cent to 13.606Mt, while sales dropped by 10.5 per cent to 13.867Mt.  

UniCem launches new high-strength product to market

The United Cement Company of (UNICEM) Nigeria launched its new high-strength cement into the market. Italcementi breaks ground on new Kazakh kiln line

The Italcementi group has held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new kiln line at its Shymkent Cement in south Kazakhstan. Plant managing director, Gabriel Morin, said the capacity of the new dry-process cement line would be 1.2Mta. The project will take 20 months to complete, Kazakhstan General Newswire reported. Iran cement output rises in first eight months

Iran produced 50.2Mt of cement in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, representing a 2.2 per cent YoY rise.   In the eighth calendar month of Aban (ended November 21), output amounted to 5.65Mt.   Some 39.8Mt of cement were supplied to the domestic market in the eight-month period.   The cement output is projected to reach 80Mt by the end of the year, the secretary of Iranian cement industry employers Abdolreza Sheikhan has said.
