Bosowa inaugurates Maros cement mill, Indonesia

The Bosowa Group of Indonesia has inaugurated a 1.8Mta cement mill at its plant in Maros, South Sulawesi, raising the company’s total production capacity to 5.3Mta. ARM Cement to start Kitui plant construction next year, Kenya

ARM Cement said it plans to start construction of an 8000tpd plant in Kitui county, Kenya in 2014.  “We plan to start construction of the Kitui plant late next year. Pikalevskiy Cement registers strong rise in monthly output, Russia

JSC Pikalevskiy Cement, part of the Eurocement Group, has reported strong increases in cement and clinker output during November. The company produced 135,100t of cement and 128,200t of clinker, an advance of 34.9 and 48.6 per cent, respectively, on the same month of the previous year. Sales also increased by 31.2 per cent YoY in November 2013 to 130,180t. Yu Zhongliang has resigned from his position as vice chairman of the board, executive director and member of the executive committee of China Resources Cement (CRC), effective 1 January 2014. A statement released yesterday by CRC’s board directors said Mr Zhongliang has decided to step down “due to his pursuit of other work allocation by the China Resources Group.”

Cement sales in Spain's autonomous region of Catalonia during November 2013 fell by 21.8 per cent YoY to 110,140t. The decline was more than double the 9.3 per cent fall overall in Spain. Lafarge Republic to acquire property at Manila Harbour Centre, Philippines

Lafarge Republic is set to purchase a property it currently leases in Manila’s port area to improve the sale and distribution of its products. Brazil Jan-Nov cement sales ahead YoY

Cement sales in Brazil over the first 11 months of the year increased by 2.5 per cent to 64.9Mt, latest data from local association SNIC, shows. During November 2013, preliminary data and market estimates put sales at 6Mt, an increase of 2.3 per cent YoY. For the 12 months between December 2012-November 2013, total sales reached 69.9Mt, representing a 2.2 per cent increase on the comparative period of the previous year (December 2011-November 2012).
