Russian cement production in June reaches 7.1Mt

Substantial rises in Russian cement production and consumption have been achieved in 1H13. SMPro analysts state that Russian cement producers achieved an output of 7.1Mt of cement in June, the highest monthly production in 2013. Najran Cement hopes to re-open second line

Najran Cement announced a temporary closure of its second cement line yesterday for scheduled maintenance, which is likely to cost around SAR400,000 (US$106.655). Cement Australia has been found guilty of failing to comply with Australian Standard Safety of Machinery requirements following a worker's death and has been fined AUD100,000 (US$90,080). A conveyor system at Cement Australia's Kandos works was found to be insufficiently guarded when an employee was pinned between two electronic rams. Nepal: standards bureau cracks down on cement plants

The Nepal Bureau of Standards & Metrology (NBSM) has shut down Butwal Cement Mills and Shubha Shree Jagadamba. The block was introduced after the companies were said to be manufacturing and selling substandard products. Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Automobiles has signed an order with Khalid Cement Industries Complex (KCIC) of Qatar for the supply of 141 Mercedes-Benz branded industrial vehicles.
