Catalonian producers cut exports, Spain

Cement producers in Spain's autonomous region of Catalonia reduced their exports by 41 per cent between January and April, compared to the same period in 2012. ScanMines-Togo expects first clinker at end 2014

ScanMines-Togo, a subsidiary of Germany’s HeidelbergCement, expects production at its new works, located on the Sika-Kondji limestone deposit, to start at the end of 2014. The company plans to ramp up clinker production to 5000tpd and build two cement plants in the country. ScanMines-Togo is HeidelbergCement’s second subsidiary in Togo, after Ciments du Togo (Cimtogo). Vietnam cement sales down 1.7 per cent in first four months

Vietnam cement sales in the first four months of 2013 fell 1.7 per cent YoY to 14.45Mt, the Ministry of Construction (MoC) has said. Sales in the first four months represent 29.8 per cent of the full-year target, the MoC added. Cement production during the period was 15.53Mt (meeting 27.7 per cent of the full-year target).
