Grey cement dispatches in Colombia advance by 35.2 per cent to 1.104Mt in May 2022 from 0.816Mt in May 2021, according to the country’s statistics office, DANE. The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) released 12 months of local and overseas dispatch data on 4 July. During the FY21-22 (July 2021-June 2022) total cement dispatches were 52.89Mt, 7.9 per cent lower than 57.43Mt dispatched during the last fiscal year. Cement deliveries by APC members in Morocco declined 9.8 per cent to 1,229,636t in June 2022 when compared with June 2021, when deliveries reached 1,363,579t, according to Ipsos. Deliveries in the first six months of 2022 saw a drop of 4.7 per cent to 6,505,973t from 6,809,696t in the 6M21. UltraTech Cement has reportedly done a U-turn on its agreement to purchase a cement plant from Jaiprakash Associates. The 3Mta plant formed part of UltraTech's acquisition of six integrated cement plants and five grinding units from the Jaypee Group , at a total cost of INR161,890m (US$2.4bn). UltraTech Cement has reportedly paid for a shipment of Russian coal in Chinese yuan, raising questions over whether this will now become the norm. Enva has opened its new GBP1.5m (US$1.8m) ash recyling plant in Paisley, Scotland, UK. The new works will treat up to 20,000tpa of fly ash from biomass and energy from waste (EfW) facilities.
