Spanish cement consumption slipped in May by 0.9 per cent, to 1,325,372t, which represents a loss of 12,406t compared to the same month last year, according to the country's cement association, Oficemen. The price of a 50kg bag of cement in Ghana is to increase by more than GHS5 to reach GHS66 (US$8.30) from 15 June 2022. A strike by truckers in South Korea is causing chaos for the country’s cement plants, according to the Korea JoongAng Daily. Puerto Rican cement sales in May 2022 declined 4.9 per cent YoY to 1.32m bags of 42.6kg, or 56,282t, according to the Puerto Rican Institute of Statistics. Fouta Cement prepares to launch new grinding mill in Liberia

Fouta Cement Corp, the subsidiary of Fouta Corp, a trading company based in Liberia, is establishing a 0.396Mta grinding plant in Monrovia. Portland and blended cement deliveries in the USA and Puerto Rico saw a 3.3 per cent YoY uptick in March 2022, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). Cement producers across North Korea have supplied more cement to major construction sites even under the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system. Officials and workers of the Sangwon Cement complex increased the output of clinker by introducing new operation methods of production.
