China’s cement makers fall on demand worries

Chinese cement companies fell sharply on worries about sluggish demand as China’s investment growth is slowing, Dow Jones reports. Cement producers in the Sindh and Balochistan regions have increased cement prices by PKR10/bag – the second increase in just over two weeks, according to reports by local press. Pokot Factory scheduled for completion at end-2013, Kenya

A new 1.2Mta cement factory being constructed in the Pokot region of Kenya, will be completed within the next 15 months, Rajesh Kumar Rawal, director of the Cemtech Sanghi Group who is building the factory. The Saudi Industrial Development Fund’s board of directors (SIDF) has approved a loan for a new cement factory to help meet demand in the the Hail region.
