Azerbaijan 10 month output increases 11.4%

Azerbaijan cement output reached 1.2Mt in the first 10 months of 2011, up 11.4 per cent up on the same period of last year. Cement production reached 1.288Mt in 2010 and was 0.6% down in comparison with 1.28Mt were produced in 2009 and, in turn, were 19.7% down from 2008. Garadagh Cement JSC is the principal cement producer in Azerbaijan with the a capacity of 1-1.4Mt, enough to meet 50 per cent of the annual demand.

UltraTech to set up cement unit in West Bengal, India

UltraTech Cement Ltd proposes to set up a cement plant at Dankuni in Hoogly district, West Bengal. The project which would require about 103 acre land for the project, has received the clearance from the West Bengal Pollution Control Board. The plant would have capacity to manufacture 6,000tpd of Portland Pozzolona cement. Pakistan: DG Khan Cement secures loan for new projects

Dera Ghazi Khan Cement (DGKC) recently signed an agreement with the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Trade and Development Bank for a loan for three projects with the intent of slashing fuel and power costs. Anhui Conch wins approval for Indonesian plant

Anhui Conch Cement Co Ltd, China’s largest cement manufacturer and seller, announced that its cement project in Indonesia had won approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). The cement giant planned to cooperate with a Hong Kong firm to establish a cement production line with a capacity at 1.55Mta. The total investment in the project was about US$400m, among which, some US$378m will come from Conch Cement.

The Board of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) has approved a US$50m loan that will help to finance the construction and operation of the new Iguazu cement plant in Villa Hayes, Paraguay.
