Kumar Mangalam Birla-controlled UltraTech Cement Ltd has proposed setting up a cement plant in West Bengal of 2Mta capacity. The unit, to be second in the state, has received the clearance from the West Bengal Pollution Control Board. National Cement (Kenya), has announced plans to set up a KES10bn clinker plant at Kajiado, Lukenya, to supply its recently commissioned grinding plant. Lafarge Cement WAPCO Nigeria Plc says it has concluded plans to sell 30MW of electricity from its power plant in Ewekoro, Ogun State, Nigeria. Weak public spending seen hurting Lafarge Philippine profits
