Titan shows signs of recovery in US market

Titan Cement administration expects the confirmation of an assessment made by the US Portland Cement Association (PCA) for a sluggish recovery in the US building materials market.

Colombian-based producer Cementos Argos has posted strong first quarter 2011 results, registering record sales volumes for the period. Grey cement sales in Colombia for the first quarter of 2011 totaled 1.2Mt, 27% higher than over the same period last year. Similarly, the company also sold 587,000m3 of concrete, with an increase of 48% over the first three months of 2010.
