Yelena Baturina, the wife of former Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov and for many years Russia’s richest woman, may sell her cement plants in Krasnodar territory to Lev Kvetnoi, a former partner in Alisher Usmanov and Andrei Skoch’s metals business and the owner of Novoroscement. Cimpor completes acquisition in Mozambique

Portuguese cement producer Cimpor on Friday completed the acquisition of Mozambican sector player CINAC. A stake of 51% in the African company was bought from Brazilian peer Camargo Correa Cimentos, Cimpor said in a filing with Portugal’s bourse regulator CMVM. The move was completed through Cimpor’s local subsidiary Cimentos de Mocambique SA. The investment value of the operation was to the tune of EUR 4.5m. Shipments of cement in the Peruvian market totaled 270,562t between January and February 2011, 5.84 per cent more than that recorded in the same period in 2010, when they totalled 200,429t, reported the Association Cement Producers (ASOCEM).

Electra Ltd controlled by Salkind through Elco Holdings Ltd is in negotiations to purchase cement company Hanson Israel Ltd. for NIS425m (US$120m).
