Cement production declined four per cent YoY in September 2021 to reach an index of 100, when compared with the base year of 2015, according to Federbeton, Italy’s concrete association. A new strategic cement and building materials factory complex agreement has been signed by Ahmed Abuhisa, Minister of Industry and Minerals, in Tripoli. Bolivia’s cement consumption advanced by 36.6 per cent to 339,838t in August 2021 but edged down 2.1 per cent the following month to 329,982t when compared with the equivalent months of 2020, according to the country’s statistics agency, INE. Apparent cement consumption in El Salvador increased 45.9 per cent YoY to 180,611t (4249.67 bags) from 123,779t (2912.45 bags) in July 2020, according to Casalco. Apparent cement consumption in El Salvador surged by 59.7 per cent to 920,315t (21,654.48 bags) in January-June 2021 from 576,210t (13,557.88 bags) in the equivalent period of 2020, according to Casalco. Sales of cement in Vietnam have increased five per cent in October to 5,239,069t, according to the Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA). VICEM sales edged up two per cent YoY to 1,739,204t in October 2021 while its affiliates saw sales slip by one per cent to 1,149,865t. Cement consumption in Colombia edged up 2.9 per cent YoY to 1.164Mt in September 2021 from 1.131Mt in September 2020, according to the country’s statistics agency, DANE. Peruvian cement market expands 2% in October

Domestic cement deliveries in Peru edged up two per cent to 1.264Mt in October 2021 when compared with October 2020, according to Peruvian cement association, Asocem. Its members dispatched 1.17Mt, up two per cent YoY. Cement production from members’ cement plants increased seven per cent to 1.228Mt in October 2021 from 1.147Mt in the equivalent period of 2020. Iranian cement market contracts 12% in October

Iran’s cement demand declined 11.7 per cent MoM to 5.05Mt in October 2021. In addition, producers exported 0.65Mt of clinker and 0.29Mt of cement, according to the Iranian cement association. In term of output, 7.02Mt of clinker and 5.46Mt of cement were produced in October 2021. When compared with September 2021, clinker production increased 2.8 per cent while cement output was down 9.2 per cent.
