Moroccan cement delivers edged up 0.8 per cent in October 2021 to 1,254,798t from 1,245,064t in October 2020, according to the Ministry of Housing and Urbanisation. The data apply to members of the domestic cement association, APC – Asment Temara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc and Holcim Maroc. In the January-October 2021 period 11.491Mt of cement was supplied to the domestic market by these producers, a 16.1 per cent increase when compared with 9.898Mt in the 10M20.

Puerto Rican cement sales see 14% drop in October

Cement sales in Puerto Rico declined 13.9 per cent YoY to 1.18m bags, or 50,312t, according to the country’s Economic Development Bank (BDE). It is the fifth-consecutive monthly fall and the lowest level since November 2020, according to Sin Comillas. While year-to-date sales of cement in Brazil continue to be high in the period until October 2021, October’s stand-alone result has been seen as the worst of the year, according to the country’s cement association, SNIC. Chilean cement sales have increased by two per cent YoY in September 2021. Volumes were reported at 334,603t in September 2021, up from 328,184t in September 2020, according to the Chilean Chamber of Construction (CChC). Argentina’s cement consumption increased 6.6 per cent YoY and 2.8 per cent MoM to 1,141,043t in October 2021, according to AFCP, the country’s cement association.
