Iran’s cement consumption at 5.36Mt in November

The Iranian cement market required a supply of 5.36Mt in November 2021, according to the Iranian Cement Association. Domestic supply of cement and clinker reached 5.35Mt and 6.57Mt, respectively. In addition 0.38Mt of cement and 0.97Mt of clinker was exported by the country’s cement producers.

Cement dispatches in Colombia slipped 1.6 per cent YoY to 1.15Mt in October 2021 from 1.169Mt in the same period of the previous year, according the country’s statistics office, DANE. Chile’s cement market expands 5% in October

Cement consumption in Chile increased 4.5 per cent YoY to 410,424t in October 2021 when compared with October 2020, when demand reached 392,688t, according to the Chilean Chamber for Construction (CChC). In the January-October 2021 period dispatches were up 52.4 per cent to 3.625Mt from 2.379Mt in the 10M20.

Cement sales in Brazil edged up 2.3 per cent to 5.359Mt in November, according to the country’s cement association, SNIC. Tokyo Cement Co imports bagged cement to address shortage

Sri Lanka’s Tokyo Cement Co has begun distributing a shipment of bagged cement to fill a gap created in the market when importers stopped bag cement imports, according to the Daily FT. As a result, bagged cement will now reach end consumers in all parts of the island at the lowest maximum retail price of INR1275/bag (US$6.3), which is expected to lessen the impact of the cement shortage in the country.
