Spanish builder FCC has studied the possibility of using shares held as treasury stock to buy out the minority stake in its struggling cement unit, its chairman said on Tuesday. The temporary layoffs at cement manufacturer Holcim have been extended for a second time, effective until the end of March, in what’s becoming a month-to-month evaluation of the company’s financial health.
