Bangladesh cement manufacturer expands capacity??

Aramit Cement Limited - a unit of Bangladesh leading building material group, Aramit Group, announced that it is enhancing its cement plant capacity from 700tpd to 1000tpd in Southern Bangladesh. Mr Jatindra Chandra Barman, General Manager of Aramit Cement, told CemNet that the work is going with full pace and hopefully plant will start production in first quarter of next year.

Aleppo cement plant launched, Syria

The Aleppo cement plant, owned by Lafarge in partnership with Syrian MAS Economic Group, has  started production with a capacity of 3Mta, reports Global Arab Network according to Syrian sources. 

Chairman and CEO of Lafarge, Bruno Lafont said the plant, situated in Kharab Ishq village in the Aleppo countryside, will help achieve self-sufficiency in cement to cover the local market needs. Total investment in the plant has amounted to US$680m. Plant construction started in 2007.

Pakistan’s Port Qasim Authority (PQA) received formal government approval on Saturday, October 16, to set up Pakistan’s first modern dry bulk terminal for the handling of coal, clinker and cement at a port in Sindh province, near Karachi, say government officials. The new port, which is being planned with the help of the private sector, will alleviate congestion at Karachi Port.

Holcim Ltd is avoiding a dip in Morocco’s cement market this year and is set to benefit as infrastructure projects fuel a recovery in 2011. India: cement sales growth surges after three months

Saudi Cement Company, the biggest manufacturer of the commodity in the country, posted third quarter profits of SAR140m, up 13.7 per cnet on the same period last year though down on the previous quarter.
