Binani Industries Limited, a manufacturer of zinc, cement, glass and composites, has agreed to acquire the entire public equity shareholding of its subsidiary Binani Cement Limited, a manufacturer of cement. Jilin Yatai (Group) Co Ltd on Oct. 16 said it will spend CNY249m (US$37.5m) to acquire a cement company, which is based in Tieling, Liaoning Province and suffered losses of CNY45.56m in the first half of this year.

Iran 1H production up 18%

Nearly 30.8Mt of cement have been produced in the first six months of current Iranian calendar year, says Mehr News Agency. According to the report, there has been 18% increase in comparison to previous years figure. The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) said today that its Executive Committee has elected Mr. Tariq Sayeed Saigol of Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited (MLCFL) as its new chairman for the term 2010-2011.

Peru production rises 16%

Cement production in Peru increased 16% between January and September this year. During the same period, the country exported 267% more than in 2009, according to the Association of Cement Producers (ASOCEM).
