Dubai Cement companies serving the Dubai market are being buffeted by low prices and are seeking to sell their products elsewhere in the Gulf and Middle East to bolster their balance sheets. Officials from Vienam National Coal and Mineral Group (Vinacomin) said the group is not responsible for the lack of coal for cement production. Iran cement production up 18%

Some 30.8Mt  of cement have been produced in the first six months of current Iranian calendar year (ended September 22). The amount shows 18 pe rcent increase in comparison to previous years’ figure, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported.

Lao Cai cement plant to increase output

The Ministry of Construction (MoC) has approved Lao Cai Cement Factory’s application to increase its capacity from 350,000 tonnes to 450,000tpa. MoC is mulling a development programme for the Vietnam cement industry by 2020 and its orientation by 2030, which includes Lao Cai Cement Factory to submit the Government for approval. Vietnam has 108 cement production lines with a total designed capacity of 65Mta, according to MoC.
