Iran’s Qeshm works exports 2500t of cement to Somalia

A consignment of 2500t of cement was exported by Qesh cement plant, Hormozgan, Iran, to Somalia, according to Hormuz Amiri, head of development and trade at Qeshm Free Trade Zone. This is the fifth cargo exported since 21 March 2019, the start of the Iranian year. To date, 104,000t of clinker have been exported from Qeshm to the UAE. According to Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh's cement industry has earned US$2.37m during July-September 2019 (1QFY19-20) compared to US$3.17m earned in same period last year. Algerian cement exports surge to US$42m

Cement exports from Algeria reached US$42.41m between January-July 2019, more than septupling YoY, according to the Algerian customs service. Exports of hydraulic cement and clinker rose from US$5.03m in the 7M18. Forecasts by the Ministry of Industry and Mines show that the country is aiming to lift its cement exports to US$500m over the next five years. Iran sees cement exports up, clinker exports down

Iran exported 5.48Mt of cement and clinker during the first five months (21 March-22 August 2019) of the Iranian year, according to the Secretary of Iran’s Cement and Clinker Export Market, Abdolreza Sheikhan. Clinker exports slipped by almost two per cent but cement exports advanced by 17 per cent when compared with the equivalent period in the previous year. Pakistan's cement industry earned foreign exchange revenue of US$16.74m by exporting 391,548t of cement in August 2019, compared to US$25.4m from exporting 593,525t of cement in previous month, says the country's Federal Bureau of Statistics. Cement imports into South Africa have surged by 293 per cent YoY in July and have also risen by 17.5 per cent since the start of the year. The main source for the cement came from Vietnam during June-July 2019, according to Industry Insight. Philippines announces new duty on imported cement

The Philippines’ Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will impose a general safeguard duty on imported cement for a three-year period to protect domestic product. The measure will take effect 15 days after the announcement made on Tuesday.
