A light local vessel, MV Brishti, laden with 9500t of clinker imports capsized in the Bay of Bengal near Patenga beach in Chittagong, Bangladesh following a collision with the sunken ship MV Rita on 12 June. Vietnam exports rise 41% YoY

Vietnam exported 8.38Mt of cement and clinker worth US$355m in the first four months of this year, up 41 and 43 per cent in terms of volume and value, respectively, the General Department of Vietnam Customs said. Al Jouf completes supply agreement

Saudi-Arabia based Al Jouf Cement said in a bourse statement today that it has completed supplying clinker and cement according to the contracts signed with Al-Rajhi Factory in Jordan. The company added that the contract value totals nearly SAR47m (US$12.5m).

Russian imports from Belarus increase by 85% in 1H14

In 1H14 Belarusian cement producers increased their supplies to Russia by 85.6 per cent YoY, reports BelTA. Quoting CMPRO data BelTA  states that in January-March 2014 Belarus shipped 278,000t of cement to the Russian market. Russia also buys cement from the Baltic states, Iran, Sweden and Turkey. Pakistan export volumes and revenues fall in 7MFY14

Pakistan’s export volumes fell 7.5 per cent YoY in the first seven months of the current Pakistan fiscal, while revenues were also down 13 per cent over the same period.
