CDP report claims producers still need to vastly reduce CO2 levels

A new report by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) entitled 'Building Pressure', which analyses 13 of the world's largest publicly-listed cement companies, reveals that they need to more than double their emissions reductions if they are to limit global warming to below 2˚C, as agreed in the Paris Climate Deal. Egyptian cement prices rise EGP250/t in March

Egyptian cement prices increased by EGP250/t (US$14.14/t) to reach EGP1100/t at the beginning of March, reports Ahram Online. Spain’s Ministry of Environment has approved the expansion of the Mataporquera quarry, submitted by Cementos Alfa. With the approval the life of the quarry, where Cementos Alfa exploits some 0.6Mta of limestone and marl reserves for cement production, has been extended for a new period of 30 years. The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued notices to several cement factory owners to appear on 20 April, with regards to clarifying their position on the drying out of the Shiri Katas Raj Temple Pond. The Municipality of Montcada i Reixac, Spain, has filed an appeal with the Supreme Court of Catalonia against the renewal of the environmental permit of the LafargeHolcim plant located in the municipality.
