GCC sees 8% rise in consolidated net sales

Mexico's Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) has recorded an 8.3 per cent YoY rise in consolidated net sales to US$301.7m for the third quarter of 2019, on the back of improved cement volumes and prices in Mexico and the USA. In 2018 cement production in Poland broke records to reach 18.94Mt, according to data from the Central Statistical Office (CSO). Furthermore, production is up by 0.4 per cent YoY to nearly 12.3Mt in the 8M19. UltraTech completed the acquisition of Century's cement business, with the Scheme of Demerger  effective from 1 October 2019. Cement consumption in Indonesia remained largely stable at 6,728,921t in September 2019 when compared with September 2018, according to the latest data by the country’s cement association, ASI. China Gezhouba Group Cement Co Ltd’s (CGGCC) plant in Shieli, Kazakhstan, was officially put into operation on 18 October. The 2500tpd China-Kazakh project began construction in April 2017, with a total investment of US$178m. Cambodia’s Thai Boon Roong Cement Co Ltd is expected to inaugurate its new 3500tpd facility in Dang Tong district, Kampot, next month. Total shipments of Portland and blended cement, including imports, in the USA and Puerto Rico advanced 7.7 per cent YoY to 10Mt in July, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
