Axel Conrads, Plant Manager, has announced the financial support of the Lehigh Southwest Cement Company for Tehachapi’s next historical mural. The company has generously offered to match contributions from other donors, up to $10,000. A subsidiary of building materials group CRH has been fined €530,000 for interfering with evidence that Polish authorities were gathering for a price-fixing investigation.     It emerged yesterday that the Polish Competition and Consumer Protection Office has fined CRH subsidiary Grupa Ozarow €530,000 after one of its workers attempted to tamper with evidence during a raid on the company’s offices last year. Slowdown in cement; core sector grows 10% in March

Cement production in India slowed in 2006-07, with a sharp decline recorded in March, data from the index of six infrastructure industries showed today.     The overall six core sector index, which has a combined weight of 26.7 per cent in the index of industrial production, grew by 10 per cent in the month, as against 7.1 per cent in March 2006.     Cement production growth fell this March to 5.5 per cent, as against 17 per cent in the same month last year. The Mexican cement industry is expected to increase by four per cent this year, said Carlos Castillo Soucy the chairman of Camara Nacional del Cemento (Canacem). Increased construction works for the November Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) have boosted the demand for cement by about 9%.
