Pakistan to export 2.5Mt of cement in FY 07

Pakistan cement manufacturers on Friday raised the prices of cement by Rs 5 to 10 per bag in the wake of rising demand in the country, industry sources told Business Recorder. The Prime Minister has given the Ministry of Finance permission to provide a guarantee for a VND1.5 trillion ($93.75m) loan to finance the ongoing construction of Song Thao cement plant in northern Phu Tho province. Secil Lobito 50 per cent rise in production

Angolan producer Secil Lobito recorded a 50 per cent increase in production, reaching 173,000t in 2006, against 115,000t in the previous year. Victor Rodrigues, the company’s administrator, attributed the increase in production  to economic stability and construction of various infrastructure projects in the province He also recognised that output does not fully satisfy domestic demand.
