Argentina’s Economy Minister Roberto Lavagna said the country’s competition bureau will fine all of the country’s cement producers for colluding on prices and to divide the country’s market. Cemento Melón to develop new limestone mine

Chilean cement company Cemento Melón will begin operating a new limestone mine called Cantera Ñilhue in the country’s central Region V, newspaper Diario Financiero reported.  The mine will be operational for an estimated 30 years and will have limestone production capacity of up to 400,000tpa. Austrian construction holding Strabag is looking for a suitable site for a new cement works in Hungary in which Euro 106m will be invested, it was reported on July 26, 2005.  According to Hungarian daily Napi Gazdasag Strabag will build the plant, which will be the largest cement works in central Europe, in Kiralyegyhaza, southern Hungary.
