In 2004, the companies active in the sector produced 34.4Mt according to the National Union of the Cement Industry, which believes that production will increase by three per cent in 2005, meaning a total of 35.4Mt. Southern Province cement H1 profit up 14%06 July 2005, Published under Cement NewsSaudi Arabia’s Southern Province Cement Co first-half net profit rose 14 per cent to 323m riyals ($86m), the company said. Southern Province Cement, the kingdom’s largest listed cement firm in terms of market capitalisation, said it would pay a dividend on the profit of 12 riyals a share. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu Cement Co half year profits rose 0.3 percent to 215m riyals ($57.3m), the company.
